Mrs Steven is a a wonderful person and teacher. She teaches a class called ONOW it teaches women basic training in nontraditional jobs. These include carpentry, electricity, auto body and welding. She also teaches the women how to read blue prints. She also teaches gym in the morning and she always encourages you never to give up but keep trying. Then she teaches health in the afternoon she helps gets the kids the right information to eat right and how to have healthy life styles.Then in the afternoon she has her adult students for ONOW. This is Mrs. Steven last year teaching and I would love for her to be recognized for all the good she has shown every student. Mrs. Steven is always there when you need a shoulder to cry on or someone just to give you the extra push and encouragement you need. She will go the extra mile for any student and that\'s what makes her an amazing teacher. If it wasn\'t for her I would never have went to school and just gave up but I am grateful for all the encouragement she gives me.

Ms. Jamie Davis is my son's 5th grade teacher at Peyton Elementary. I have to preface this by saying, this school has some of the best teachers in the county, and my son has had many great teachers there. However, Ms. Davis stands out even more, as a teacher that goes above and beyond the description of her job. Every teacher at that school can tell you how difficult it can be to deal with my precious son. Many programs have been tried with him as well as counseling. Though he has a high IQ and was placed in the gifted program, he squanders his God given talent by being unmotivated, stubborn, and lazy. He simply doesn't seem to care. I battle daily with the helplessness I feel to inspire him to learn and do well in school. Ms. Davis gives me hope. Her optimism, in any small amount of progress my son makes, is refreshing, especially in a time when many teachers are "by the book" and if the student doesn't fit into the ONE teaching style they know, then they just ignore the student. She is a firm teacher that doesn't take any crap from her students, which is great for my son because otherwise he'd steamroll her. At the same time she is flexible to teach in such a way that each different student can relate to, (sometimes teaching requires thinking and teaching outside the box) and seems to genuinely care about her students. I am grateful for all the extra time she takes with my son to deal with his issues. When an average teacher would have given him none of her time and preferred to send him to the office for the principal to deal with, when a good teacher would have given up on him after only one month into the school year and just took to ignoring him and his rapid decline in grades, when a great teacher would have stayed motivated and optimistic to changing his difficult behavior until half way through the school year, Ms. Davis is an EXCELLENT teacher, head and shoulders above the rest who has never, not for one day, given up on my son. To know that each day, I send my son to a place where someone actually cares and strives to invent new ways to inspire him to learn, to a place where someone shows concern for his well being and happiness, as well as his academic progress, is such a comfort and relief to me. This place is Peyton Elementary and this extraordinary person is teacher, Ms. Jamie Davis. I appreciate her now in the present, and I know my son will feel the same once he is grown. You know how there's that one teacher that we all think back on and remember with gratitude and affection. The one that made a difference in the path of our lives? For my son that teacher will be Ms. Davis. When he is 35 and the next Bill Gates, this is the teacher he'll think back on with love and appreciation for never giving up on him.

Mrs. Farley is an amazing teacher to my son and her entire second grade class! She truly is one of a kind. Not only is she greatly contributing to the fantastic little man my son is, she was my teacher some twenty years ago! I will never forget her nor the impact she had on my life. She always has a smile on her face. She always makes time for her students and parents. I have never witnessed a teacher with as much patience as Mrs. Farley. I know she is doing everything in her power to make a difference in her students lives and the smile on my sons face at the end of everyday confirms that! For her to win teacher of the month would be the perfect gesture for us to say thank you!
